  • I won a diving holiday at London Boat Show in 1987 from the BSAC stand. They had a try a dive pool set up and I was urged to have a go, so I did.
It was a weekend dive course at the Poole Dive Centre in February (3rd prize). First prize was 2 weeks in Bahamas!
I absolutely loved the course and went on to join a club, the Wicked Willie Dive Club based in Twickenham/Hampton and have been diving ever since. I used to always dive in UK, mainly Weymouth, Devon but jaunts to West Wales, St Abbs, Cornwall, North Devon very memorable. These days my drysuit is in the loft and I mainly dive warmer climes - but its all been great fun X

    Wied Il Mielah

    All punters boat diving from Xlendi St Andrews keep their gear on during boat ride! Site newly open for approx a year as used to be sewage outlet! Spectacular wall with caves and pinnacles, lots barracuda and fish life. Wall covered in carpet of plant life, lots of gullies in rocks, broken anchors a-plenty too, lovely.

    The Alternatives

    Lovely third dive today coming back from Thistlegorm n just before Ras Mohammed. Group of pinnacles. Saw lionfish, moray, big stonefish, blue spotted ray, squat lobster culminating at stingray station, saw 2 huge rays taking off, lovely dive.

    last dive of the trip and what a great trip its been. If you are thinking of Roatan - go, its worth it. Saw jawfish, sandy bed patchy, big porcupinefish, free swimming large green moray right up close, ray, brown striped grouper, batfish, big drumfish, sea cucumber, shrimps, massive hogfish at end of yellow patch - it has a v strange shape, jacks, yellow snapper, big shoals black tang, great dive x

    Police Island

    Wonderful dive, 3 flatties, big eagle ray, wow, then Leopard Shark. We circled him, fantastic. in distance manta rays - a line of them. I saw 4, then later another manta. Went through swim-thru in reef which was so beautiful then into a coral garden full of fish and coral. Dolphins followed boat back, grrrreat trip.
